Whoever passes by Vicente Machado Avenue in Curitiba can not imagine that in that place lies a molecular restaurant with a fantastic gastronomy from all over the world. This is the idea behind Poco Tapas; to induce imagination, and exceed the expectation of the dinning client.

Discrete on the outside and very reserved space on the inside, the ambiance is confortable yet elegant with low lights and lether topped tables. The restaurant is ideal for friends, family and specially couples who seek something very romantic and different.

Besides the surprising food, Poco Tapas has an excelent wine list from all over the globe.


Fabio Mattos was only 16 years of age when his successful career started in a gourmet pizzaria in Huntington Beach California. A few years later he graduated from Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, and continue to further his carrer working in several restaurants. In Fall River, Massachussetts he pursued a degree in International cuisine at the I.I.C.A. (international institute of Culinary Arts) where he learned the crafts of a Master Chef, Chef George Karausos, and became the first student to wear the Executive chef Jacket and to receive the certificate for the most talented student.

After school he moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida where he applied his knowledge from small bistros to cooporate hotels. In 2009 moved to Manhattan, NY where he worked for a chain of restaurants creating menus and training staff. Back to his home town in Brasil in 2010 he fulfilled his dream of opening his first restaurant, Poco Tapas.

One of his most memorable chef experiences was to be able to cook for the Great Julia Child.


Poco Tapas works only with a tasting menu, this way our clients can experience the best of what we can offer in one sitting.  The tasting menu has 12 courses, 8 main courses and 4 different desserts, in which one of the desserts is our famous dragons breath popcorn.



In case of any allergies or food restriction, Poco Tapas is well equiped to adapt to your needs with the same quality and creativity as our normal tasting menu.

Our tasting menu is constantly evolving, and for that reason our menu may not be the same daily.


Our magic popocorn is a dessert that makes you look like a dragon while you eat it, smoke comes out of your mouth and nose while you chew this delicious surprise. This amazing experience can be part of your meeting, party or any other celebration you can think of.

The popcorn is frozen in liquid nitrogen and “cooked” in minus 196 degrees celcius.
